Honda is working on the new generation Amaze compact sedan. The all-new model from Honda Cars India will reportedly be introduced in Delhi at the 2018 Auto Expo. According to our insider, the 2018 Honda Amaze will be significantly better from its predecessor. That’s because the carmaker plans to improve everything, interior, and exterior, as well as sedan’s powertrain.
2018 Honda Amaze: Engine Options
The most significant change will be a new platform without any doubt. The new architecture will improve car’s rigidity and shed some weight. Plus, it will be able to accommodate some new options beneath the hood. More precisely, the 2018 Amaze will rely on a new 1.5-liter diesel, which will deliver significantly more power. We don’t know the exact performance number yet, but it should be able to deliver about 110 PS and 220 Nm of torque.
Unfortunately, the oil-burner model will still use just a 5-speed manual gearbox. For a CVT mated Amaze the potential buyers will have to satisfy with a petrol model. It’s mated to a 1.2 L i-VTEC, which is going to produce 88 PS and 109 Nm of torque. Some reports indicate that the carmaker prepares one more petrol engine with more power. This new topper will reportedly be almost twice more powerful from the 1.2-liter unit. Still, these are just rumors, so we will have to wait and see what’s actually going on.
Exterior and Interior Redesign
The 2018 Honda Amaze will look really amazing. We are sure in this matter simply because the new sedan should borrow most of the styling cues from the new Civic. This will definitely make the new Amaze more dynamic, smooth, and sexy at the same time. Aside it will feature new body lines, the car will host a redesigned grille. Plus, the carmaker will add LED DRLs and LED tail lamps, as well as dual tone alloys. Of course, the redesign will bring some new exterior colors.
Unofficially, the new sedan will be slightly larger from its predecessor. This will have a positive influence on interior space, which is one of the biggest issues of today’s model. In addition, the 2018 Amaze will host a new 7-inch Digipad touchscreen system, as well as automatic climate control. Honda won’t skit the chance to add some new features like keyless entry and push-button start. This way, the car won’t lack behind the biggest rivals.
We have no official information regarding the price of the 2018 Honda Amaze. However, we suppose it’s going to cost just slightly more from its predecessor.
