Honda’s new generation Crosstour is definitely coming very soon. Moreover, the crossover is already introduced in China as the Avancier SUV. The US-specs model should be ready for the 2017 Detroit Motor Show is January. Essentially, the new Avancier and the 2018 Honda Crosstour is the same vehicle, so except of the different name, there won’t be any big differences at all.
2018 Honda Crosstour: Engine Specs
The 2018 Crosstour crossover will be the first Honda with the all-new 2.0-liter turbo engine. This so called Sport Turbo isn’t officially introduced yet, so we have no further details about it. Still, according to the Japanese car manufacturer, it will have very impressive power and really good fuel economy. In addition, the base model will likely use a naturally aspirated 2.4-liter mill with around 205 horsepower. Both engines will be paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission, a standard front- and optional all-wheel drive. Sometime later, if the crossover becomes interesting, the producer might introduce the 2018 Honda Crosstour hybrid.
Styling and Features Are Really Impressive
Although there are some small similarities with the current CR-V, essentially the new generation Crosstour features pretty unique styling. As a matter of fact, the carmaker made the new crossover based on the interesting Honda Concept D. Of course, there are some important differences, especially in the front end, but the overall lines are pretty much the same. The front end styling sports quite aggressive bodywork with mesh grille and really attractive headlights. Below, the SUV features the fog lights in the same manner. Sculpted sides are really handsome, especially due the big wheel arches and side skirts, while the sloping roof turns the SUV into the ultra-popular coupe-looking crossover. In the rear, you will find very sleek hatch with brilliant taillights, as well as dual exhaust pipe setup.
Look inside, and you will see nothing but luxury. The crossover can accommodate just five people, but there is plenty of space for every one of them. We are true fans of leather, so it’s not wander that we are really charmed with the 2018 Honda Crosstour cab. It is totally wrapped with fine leather upholstery all over the seats, dash and door panels. The center stack is nicely arranged and features really big touchscreen infotainment. The crossover has pretty impressive standard kit which includes triple-zone heating and cooling, push button gear selection, a panoramic glass roof, electronic parking brake, and heated and ventilated seats, as well as quite impressive rear-seat entertainment system.
Price and Release Date
The 2018 Honda Crosstour won’t be available on the North American car market for another six to twelve months. The starting price isn’t known yet but we expect to cost under $40,000.
