Honda’s new generation Ridgeline pickup truck has been introduced this year. The redesigned vehicle instantly became very popular, so we were rather surprised with the information that the Japanese car manufacturer works on the 2018 Honda Ridgeline. Since the completely redesigned model came this year, the 2018 version won’t have any cosmetic change. However, the rumors indicate some big improvements under the hood.
2018 Honda Ridgeline: Powertrain Specs
According to the latest reports, the 2018 Ridgeline will receive a hybrid powertrain. The current pickup truck offers just a gasoline 3.5-liter V-6 engine, which is paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The next year model will, on the other hand, get a hybrid powertrain. The system will combine the same 3.5-liter unit with a pair of electric motors. We have no the exact output figures, but expect nothing less than 320 horsepower. Of course, the drivetrain will be mated to a new 9-speed automatic and the Super Handling All-Wheel Drive. The amazing system is currently offered with the Acura MDX. The 2018 Honda Ridgeline hybrid won’t be the last word of the Japanese car manufacturer. Judging by our inside information, they are also working on the all-electric model. However, the EV pickup truck will not be ready for another two years.
Features and Changes
While the exterior gets nothing new, the interior of the 2018 Honda Ridgeline will sport some changes. After all, this will be the hybrid, so there should be some new “green” details. There will be the cheerful-colored upholstery without any doubt. Of course, the 2018 Ridgeline hybrid will feature upscale features, which will be pretty similar to the new RTL-T trim level. This one offers the impressive safety equipment that includes adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, parking sensors, and side-view camera for blind-spot monitors. There will be also a standard moonroof, a power sliding rear window, a heated steering wheel, truck bed speakers and premium audio.
Estimated Price and Arrival
The 2018 Honda Ridgeline will have both, the extensive list of features and the hybrid powertrain. this means that the price won’t be low at all. Judging by the latest rumors, the pickup truck will cost over $40,000 and will become available at the end of the next year.
